Forums: Village pump → How do I restore the site notifications bar at the top?

I used to be able to see an area on the top that displays various site-wide notifications. The most recent message says patch 8.0 will hit soon and asks Wowpedians to archive content that will be removed. I accidentally clicked something near it which caused the bar to hide permanently. Now I can only see it for a split second every time I visit Wowpedia before it disappears. Does anyone know how to restore it? Thank you. Moonrgr (talk) 13:27, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

Not sure how to restore the specific notification, but I believe, this was the page. PeterWind (talk) 13:35, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
You can always check the current side-wide notification on the MediaWiki:Sitenotice page. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 13:36, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
Thank you both! You helped me the most by telling me it was called Sitenotice. I had no idea what was its name and thus didn't know where to start. Turns out I just need to delete the cookies (thanks to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Interface/Sitenotice). I didn't know the dismissal was both message-based and browser-based. I was worried that it would forever hide Sitenotice for all Gamepedia sites for my account forever. Haha :). Thank you both so much! Moonrgr (talk) 13:46, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
YOu don't risk missing anything, AFAIK the SiteNotice comes back everytime it is updated even if you hid it once. Xporc (talk) 14:50, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
Yes you are totally right. The dismissal is on a per message basis. sysops can also increment the id of a Sitenotice by 1 to make it visible again to everyone. Moonrgr (talk) 16:49, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
