Forums: Village pump → Music Project?

heya! new editor to wowpedia so i wanted to ask first: would it be all right if i added a "Music" section on WoW location pages? and maybe create a "list of in-game tracks, where they're used, and what their source song was" sort of page for each expansion? i know there are pages for the official soundtracks already, but a lot of the in-game tracks are different from the soundtrack version in some way (e.g. Nightsong has two in-game versions that start in the middle of the song & one of them has the singing removed), and it may be useful for people googling filenames (since that's what wowhead's sound database shows)

PlaySoundFile macros - other music sounds -- Darksora110 (talk) 10:35, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
hmm. it is a list, but not quite what i was thinking. this is more a giant wall of all the files on one page, where i'm wanting to do groups of files by expansion, with locations & soundtrack title (if there is one) listed under each track. so if someone wanted to look at just the tracks added in BC, they could do that without muddling through folder names
of course, i suppose it's less necessary to do for expacs after cata, but everything earlier than that is kinda lumped together in the folders - and then vanilla's folders don't even use actual names :o

It would be fine to add what music plays in what locations.--SWM2448 04:02, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
Youtube user Yodragon formatted the music and is fantastic. I'm pleased he took the time to put something together. Research this and see what you can do with it: https://www.youtube.com/user/nsonger/playlists -- Darksora110 (talk) 11:33, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Sounds like an interesting idea! I really like the music per location part. PeterWind (talk) 12:22, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
