yo! so, lately the way we present numbers on icons has been bothering me. i mean, it's always bothered me, but right now it's bothering me more. q:
currently, as seen above, it's a bold font with a bottom-right shadow... which doesn't match the in-game appearance AND is frequently hard to see. {{icon}} attempts to deal with the visibility issue by allowing you to use black numbers instead, but that's not particularly pretty, and it doesn't help with icons that have a mix of light & dark areas.
so i've worked up an alternative here and wanted to see what you guys think. (and pardon the messy code, i don't feel like cleaning it up just for a test run lel.) basically, i've used the text-shadow CSS property to completely surround the numbers in black, like they are in-game. i personally prefer the non-bolded version, since that's the closest we can get to the in-game version; i assume the game uses Arial Narrow, which doesn't seem to be supported here, at least on my end.
and if browser compatibility is a concern re: text-shadow, we could probs also keep the current version's black number that pretends to be a text shadow effect. it'd just blend into/be hidden by all the other text shadows, so it shouldn't be an issue if left in. —Eithris (talk) 00:04, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
