Hello everyone! Yesterday evening, thanks to Pcj, I could access some fresh data about the site: the amount of daily, weekly and monthly unique visitors, and the list of the pages with the most views. So here are the numbers!
Unique visitors:
- Daily: about 45.000
- Weekly: about 270.000
- Monthly: about 1.010.000
Honestly, I was surprised at the amount. I was expecting a few thousands at best! This really gives me motivation to continue working further.
Now, about the most viewed pages, in order:
- Xe'ra
- Turalyon
- Argus
- Alleria Windrunner
- Antorus, the Burning Throne
- Lothraxion
- Sargeras
- Argus the Unmaker
- Illidan Stormrage
All of these pages are lore-related, indicating there is still a very strong interest in the lore of Warcraft, and it seems people are really interested into learning more about the characters of the "A Thousand Years of War" story. I say this because while Turalyon and Alleria appear in-game, Argus the Unmaker doesn't yet, so people looking about him must have read the story. Illidan Stormrage is already pretty well known by the majority of the fanbase, so people are not as much interested into his background.
Finally, this may not be a surprise to those of you who already follow my talk page, but I've been exchanging some mails with Blizzard lately and here is what Matt Burns has to say to the wowpedians:
- "Also, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the work you and others do on the wowpedia site. I’m in awe of how much information you guys have to juggle!"
So, millions of people are still interested into reading Warcraft lore, and Blizzard-sempai has noticed us ;) Not bad, uh? And the next expansion pack isn't even announced yet! Let's keep wowpedia strong for a long time more! Xporc (talk) 09:16, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
