Event
Today is the day that the Frayfeather hippogryphs hatch. Head to Frayfeather Highlands in Feralas to witness the spectacle firsthand!
Getting There
Feralas is located near the southwestern corner of Kalimdor. Once you get there, go to the Ruins of Isildien and travel west.[54, 66]
Hatching An Egg
Hatching an egg.
Once you get there, you will see many nests with eggs inside them. Go to one of the nests and get close to an egg. Once you are above an egg, sit on it. After a few seconds, the egg will hatch.
Boss
The boss Lorthalium looms around the area and can only be attacked if you hatched an egg and have the buff that comes with doing so.

[Spectral Feather].
Notes
- Standing near an egg eventually causes the egg to hatch and gives the character a Frayfeather Hatchling buff, causing a hippogryph hatchling to sit on their shoulder. This buff normally lasts 24 hours, but killing Lorthalium and using the Spectral Feather extends the buff to 5 days.
- Using a disguise effect hides the hatchling if the disguise changes the character's race or gender, and continues showing it otherwise.
