The iron army (also known as the iron armies and iron legions)[1] of Keeper Loken[1] is made of the combined forces of the iron dwarves, iron vrykul, and iron giants, respectively led by three fearsome generals known as Stormcaller Brundir, Runemaster Molgeim, and Steelbreaker. These commanders make up the Assembly of Iron.[2]

The fire giants seem to be responsible for the production of more iron soldiers. Fjorn is capable of creating giants of iron known as Stormforged Iron Giants,[3] Volkhan can be seen assembling iron vrykul, and Ignis the Furnace Master toils over the Colossal Forge, creating the iron armies that will conquer Azeroth in Yogg-Saron's name.[4] The Forge of Wills can also make iron dwarves.[1]

Despite the defeat of both Loken and Yogg-Saron, there are still many iron troops throughout Northrend. Thorim and Mimiron are looking for a way to "fix" them.[5] As of the third invasion of the Burning Legion, some of them have sworn themselves to the Keepers once more.[6]
