Otters make their first appearance with the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria expansion. The otter lives near rivers and is normally friendly and playful.[1] Otters swim by propelling themselves with their powerful tails and flexing their long bodies. Thus they are very fast in the water.[2] Otters are digging for clams to eat but when hungry enough they also eat crabs. The otters on the Shelf of Mazu are protected by law.[3]Civets are landbound cousins of the otters.[4] Sea otters never venture too far from land, and seeing them while at sea means you are relatively near a coast even if you can't see it.[5]
