Wyrmrest Temple was a meeting place as well.--SWM2448 21:01, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

What boss will we meet?

what boss do you think we will meet? I don't think it will be an aspect as:

  • Malygos will be met in the Nexus
  • Alexstrasza is our friend
  • Nozdormu too
  • Ysera, once more, too. And I think that she will be involved in an Emerald Dream Expansion and we will not be able to see her in WotLK
  • Neltharion(Deathwing) is believed death by the other aspects, and iw would not be a wise move to go INSIDE the chamber.

That said, I think the boss will be an important member of the black flight that "attacked" the chamber of the aspect, or another attacker and we will get the help of the flights.
Or, the boss of the White Flight(i think that proto-dragons are a Dragonflight apart) will go there to meet the aspects and ask something and as the aspects do not listen to him he gets angry and attacks anybody he sees.
Something like:
*You and your raid enter in the chamber and do something to start the event*
*Malygos(we defeated and redeemed him), Alexstrasza(I think that she will appear in the expansion) and Neltharaku(allyed with Alexstrasza) appear*
*The White dragon appears*
*Everybody greets everyone*
White Dragon: hello, i'd like to get some help in.../what if you make me an aspect too giving me soem powers?/why don't we have dinner together?
Malygos and Alexstrasza: Sorry, we do not want to help you uncolored dragons/sorry we are not so powerful to make you an aspect/WHAT? you fool! we are aspects, we don't go out with normal dragons!!
White Dragon: WADDAFUCK?! you make me angry! now i go enrage and attack you!
Aspects:mmm...it's better if we go away!
*Aspects disappear*
White dragon: they went away! now i kill you fuckin noobs!

  • White dragon attacks you*

what do you think(sorry if my post was too long:P)?--User:GorundThis is Gorund!User_talk:GorundTalk to me:DSpecial:Contributions/GorundMy contributions.Gorund bear1Roar! 20:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I think your idea is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Proto-Dragons aren't 'white dragons' as you call them. Search them up. They don't even look like Dragons, really. They simply share a couple traits and are much less intelligent than a normal Dragon. --Hawkwing (talk) 20:21, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
hey mate, if you look at my post's date it's 9th of may, when the only image of a proto-dragon we saw was the white drake ph, so scuse me if i (and anybody) didn't know it was a placeholder and tought that proto-dragons were white dragons... and please just look well before insulting somebody. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gorund22627 (talk · contr).

The name change

<rant>That's frustrating. We're here documenting it; you have to wonder why they didn't look the name up before starting alpha.

</rant> --Sky (t · c · w) 03:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Meh. I bitched about that with Wyrmrest Temple too. [1] --k_d3 03:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Eh, I like the new name though. ;o. Just... removing a "the" is far worse... Ai ai ai. --Sky (t · c · w) 03:15, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Bah, lore is guideline, just push it aside and do as you please Blizzard. =P User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:17, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Lol, plenty more to come ;) In this case, while it's a little lame, it does no harm really. The name still has the same meaning. -- Zeal (T/C)  10:25, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Church of Light, and Church of the Light are used interchangeably and have the same meaning.Baggins (talk) 18:24, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Size

In "The Well of Eternity" the Chamber of the Aspects is described as "a vast, monumental cavern, so expansive that even Alexstrasza appeared as little more than a gnat in comparison" [note 1]. And yet from what I can see in screenshots it doesn't appear to be very big. Can someone please confirm it one way or the other? Jormungand01 (talk) 15:27, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

They're still working on it so i think it's ahrd to say at this point. Azahel (talk) 15:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

why?

well, we have nothing about the lore involving this isntance and by now we only have the obsidian chamber open but.. why the hell we're going to invade the damn thing and kill a dragon protecting eggs? i know he's a black dragon but wtf? Azahel (talk) 15:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Given the appearance of the twilight drakes, it's been theorized that this is where Deathwing's experiments with netherdrake eggs are taking place. -- DarkTZeratul (talk) 23:37, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Locations

As the Obsidian Sanctum is clearly outside (the sky is visible, and you can mount) we have to assume it is not in Dragonblight, but somewhere else, the instance portal being not just a game area border but a teleporter. I don't think it's like the Eye of Eternity, which is a magical pocket in space, as far as I gathered (kinda SciFi-y, btw, WotLK has actually more SciFi elements than BC, but in a good way)

So it's rather a remote location somewhere on Azeroth, or maybe Deathwing's Lair we saw on that WC2 map of Draenor, which would explain the weird sky.

By extension, we can assume the other flight's portals lead to their respective sancta (yes, that's the plural of sanctum)

So the blue portal probably leads to the Nexus, or maybe the Eye itself, the bronze one to the Caverns of Time, or Nozdormu's lair, whenever it is (judging from the implications that he is the head of the Infinites, he is the next aspect to go down the plank, either through players or that event he is trying to prevent) and the green one might lead to the Emerald Dream, once it is opened. Got no good clues for red, though. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nathanyel (talk · contr).

There is also the possibility that the Sanctums are demiplanes created by the aspects to suit their needs. Blue sanctum will resemble the Nexus, bronze will resemble the Caverns of Time, green will resemble what we have seen of the Emerald Dream/Moonglade, red will bne... what kind of terrain do they like? Mountains? Plains? INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 13:51, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I think it will be like the Ruby Dragonshrine, full of life... plants, trees, flowers... that sort of thing. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 22:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Just a guess on my part, but with the info we know about Cataclysm, I speculate that it may be the surface of the Elemental Plane. Deathwing seems to have access to it.--SWM2448 02:17, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Chamber of Aspects != instance

Isn't the Obsidian Sanctum the raid instance which is located inside the world zone 'Chamber of Aspects'? I suggest removing the infobox from this page, and update the template to refer to Obsidian Sanctum instead. 'Chamber of Aspects' was merely what the instance was called when announced before release. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 10:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

The Obsidian Sanctum is only the black dragonflight's side of the Chamber of Aspects. There's several other dragonflights' sanctum there too, although they are off limits. g0urra[T҂C] 10:15, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, and that Sanctum is a raid instance, while the Chamber is technically only a world zone, or at most the 'hub' containing the Sanctum instance. See [2] vs. [3] ~ Nathanyel (talk) 10:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
However you will see that zones that contain instances (see Jormungand's post below) has an infobox that describes the area as a whole, see Nexus if you like. And I may remind you that this wiki is not only about World of Warcraft, but perhaps you figured that out already. g0urra[T҂C]
I can think of plenty of other places that have got the same problem. Hellfire Citadel's not an instance, but it's often used to refer to the instances within it. Same with Scarlet Monastery, Tempest Keep, CoT, Blackrock Mountain... I'd suggest changing it to make it a group of raid instances, of which only one is currently open. User:Jormungand01/sig
Then let me rephrase my request to make the Chamber infobox look more like the mentioned hubs, but still have the template link to Obsidian Sanctum. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 11:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Predicting the names

Blue = Azure Sanctum

Green = Emerald Sanctum

Red = Ruby Sanctum

and Bronze, well, Bronze Sanctum. ~ Pudim17 (talk) 18:26, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

It is entirely plausible, however (though merely speculation) that the Chamber of Aspects here may not be the Chamber in which the Aspects meet, rather more as a Temple to each of the Dragonflights (it is befitting therefore that it be beneath Wyrmrest Temple) or perhaps as a portal to the different sanctums. The Chamber in The Well of Eternity may be a completely different and more private place entirely....WTF? Noobi666 (talk) 14:07, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Bronze should be "Amber" because an Inv misc head dragon bronze [Amber Essence] used to summon a bronze drake. --N'Nanz (talk) 17:58, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
I think it will match the Dragonshrines, but who knows?--SWM2448 21:20, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

So, are all the doors going to become raid instances?

It's implied that each door represents a future raid encounter, one for each flight. That can't be right, I mean a Blue Dragonflight encounter seems very likely, but why would you fight the other flights? I certainly hope that blizz don't decide to just drop in some consorts and siblings of their respective aspects, and say that they've all been corrupted by something. I imagine that they will probably make a 'corrupted' Ysera a major boss in the next expansion anyway. If Korialstrasz becomes the red encounter for some reason, I will NOT be happy.

Also, does anyone have any idea how long it will be before all the doors are opened? Is it gonna be before the next expansion, or will they drag it out for a long time?Tazmantdr (talk) 16:04, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

We don't have to necessarily fight the flights as a whole, just a few deviate/corrupted members. Just look at how many red and green dragons we've killed, even bronze and uncorrupted ones for the purpose of gaining the trust of an evil being.
Even the Obsidian Sanctum and its inhabitants are assumed to not follow the orders of Neltharion himself, they may technically be traitors to the Black Dragonflight, as Sintharia might have her own agenda. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 11:39, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, Krasus destroyed all of them... well... guess that makes it easier than to open them and explain why players need to enter and either save or stop someone. Kind of a shame. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:56, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

When will they open?

Since Icecrwon Citadel will be the pinnacle of WotLK instances that pretty much means that no more of the sanctums will open in this expansion. I'm just wondering had Blizzard completely forgotten about the CotA or will they open some up in Cataclysm? After just raiding Obsidian Sanctum for the hundredth time I had to ponder at that.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 13:29, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

As the Nexus War is over, we're pretty much "ok" with all of the other dragonflights again, not necessarily allies, but not enemies, so I see no reason to implement another "wing" where we're fighting members of these flights. There could come "situations" where those flights need the help of mortals, maybe to defend their sancti, but I doubt the portals in Dragonblight will be more than shortcuts to these places. I have the theory that the Obsidian Sanctum actually just is a place on Outland, or on Azeroth, so the other portals could just be teleporters as well. The bronze one could lead to the Caverns of Time, the red one to Grim Batol (which will be used in Cataclysm) and the green one could take you to one of the Emerald Dream portals. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 17:29, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

Should this article have patch changes?

Considering the fact that it's not an instance but more of a lore zone, should it even have the patch changes section? See Azjol-Nerub.--Adûnâi (talk) 12:13, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

I don't mind personally Xporc (talk) 16:13, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
