Math for mana?[]

Like Health, I would have to assume it's simple addition. "At level 60 a given class has XX amount of base INT, which equals YYYY mana. Equipped items increase the player's mana from here." Problem is, this article doesn't have the base mana listed for any of the classes. RobertM525 04:38, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

The Base Mana page does give base mana, by class, by level. Problem is that Base Mana is not a simple function of level.

Mana = BaseMana + ManaFromIntelligence

lore?[]

is there a mana lore section?? Scorpx3 19:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)scorpx3

Base Mana[]

I would reccomend to rewrite the "Base Mana" Text. It´s quiet confusing, you could think basemana is the amount of Mana you have without any Equipment, but its not. Your basemana is the mana your base Intelligence grants you (Example: A LvL70 Mage got 149Int 1Int grants you 15Mana 149*15 = 2235)

Not the Mana while beeing unaffected bye Equip and/or Buffs whichs something around 4.5K

Pauladin (talk) 11:52, 26 August 2009 (UTC): Your base mana doesn't come from your base intelligence. Your base mana is what's left after you subtract all the mana contributions from *all* your intelligence (base and gains through items, gems, talents, etc)

Mana per level[]

Correct me if I am wrong, but the mana cost for a spell is a percentage of base mana now, which would be drained by casting (for example) Wrath by 13%. When you level up, you gain X mana from int and extra from leveling. Why does Blizzard bother? Is there a noticable change? 1 cast still drains 13% of the maximum mana available, so it would have no noticeable game effect, correct me if I am wrong.

You aren't wrong, but what's your point? Not all spells are like that anyways. Earthwurm (talk) 17:26, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
