What is this

What is this bullshit? is this some sort of wish? people, don't add wishes as serious thing listed as content of future expansion --Shrooman88 (talk) 20:18, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

This is an infodump from one of the WoW panels at BlizzCon. This "bullshit" is in fact one of the new features, just not organized or anything yet. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:19, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
What you are calling "bullshit" is added by someone attending the BlizzCon.
But maybe you can forsee the future?

Thanks for answer Dark T Zeratul. And @ A'noob, I can't forsee the future and i didn't saw info about that feature before reading about it here, so after conecting all that with the fact how this article is written i assumed that it was written as a wish by some player. Enough --Shrooman88 (talk) 20:46, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Protip: If I'm creating a page from blank... it's because they just announced it at BlizzCon. (I have a press pass and am using it judiciously). --k_d3 20:47, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Maybe we need some citation, or at least a reference to BlizzCon 2009 somewhere to avoid confusion. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 1:16 PM, 28 Aug 2009 (EDT)

Armor Penetration

Interesting they used ArP in their example since they said they are definitely removing the stat from the game. Paly 1 (talk) 22:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Generally, talk pages are reserved for discussing improving the article itself. If you want to start a general conversation, you may want to check out the forums. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 1:16 PM, 28 Aug 2009 (EDT)
Based on the summaries on MMO-Champion, the stat is being removed from items, but will still be available through talents and the mastery stat, I've clarified the statement in the article. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:15, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
No it is getting completely removed. http://www.wow.com/2009/09/05/armor-penetration-being-nerfed-in-3-2-2/Paly 1 (talk) 18:00, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
As a stat on items, yes, but not necessarily as a stat in and of itself since, as has been pointed out, it was used in an example for mastery IN THE SAME PANEL that they said they were removing it. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:55, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

Just because it was used in an example does not mean it will still be used in the game. These 3 links all say it is getting removed COMPLETELY from the game. No where do they mention only removing from gear. They say they are removing it from the game. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/faq/, http://www.wow.com/2009/09/05/armor-penetration-being-nerfed-in-3-2-2/ http://www.wow.com/2009/08/21/blizzcon-2009-stats-vastly-simplified/ Paly 1 (talk) 01:56, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

I'll try to find the article (probably a GC post). It's only being removed from items, not from the game. Gordon Ecker is correct. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 5:52 PM, 21 Sep 2009 (EDT)
See the updated article. Let me know if you have questions about why I made these edits. The reference should be self-explanatory. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 6:06 PM, 21 Sep 2009 (EDT)
I've found an archived thread in which Ghostcrawler strongly implies that the announcement about Armor Penetration's removal only refers to its' removal from gear: http://blue.mmo-champion.com/28/20136603051-pets-scaling-and-33.html. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:17, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Updated Masteries

Now that we have the Mastery stats officially announced for all the classes, is it OK to go ahead and update this page?GolanTrevize (talk) 16:13, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

It would be nice to have a section dedicated to the Mastery stat with specific examples on how it increases a tree's 3rd mastery bonus. Rupj (talk) 01:39, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Blizzcon 2009 examples

I suggest that the entire Blizzcon 2009 examples section with the exception of Eyonix's statement be removed. Now that we've been given official updated previews, the earlier examples are either outdated or redundant. GolanTrevize (talk) 13:51, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

New Page for Masteries and Specialzations

Now that we have a good idea of the new Masteries and active and passive abilities we get for choosing a spec, should we create a new page listing all of those?GolanTrevize (talk) 01:33, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Does Mastery require Cataclysm?

Just curious. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 12:38 AM PST 9 Dec 2010

No. Mastery effects show up at level 80, you can reforge Mastery onto any piece of gear of ilevel 200 or above, and many BoE greens from Cataclysm have Mastery on them. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 07:41, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
