This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Moonwell article.

Feathermoon Moonwell[]

I coudn't find any moonwell in Feathermoon Stronghold, can anyone confirm its existence? --Ralthor 01:09, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

There is a graphic of a moonwell, inside one of the trees. It is nonfunctional for tailoring mooncloth. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zenroshi (talk · contr).

Moonwell in the Barrens[]

I remember doing a quest where I had to bring a flask of water to be purified in the Barrens moonwell. The quest is complete when I gAve the flask to a Tauren southeast of Ratchet. She simply dip the flask into the ocean. Does anyone know if the ocean by her is a workable moonwell? --Voidvector 03:54, 5 January 2007 (EST)

What you did were probably N [52] Seeking Spiritual Aid, the water in the flask were corrupted, later used to pour over some braizers in Shadow Hold. TherasTaneel (talk) 20:02, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Ghostlands[]

Can anyone confirm that there's a working moonwell at Shalandis Isle in Ghostlands? I thought I saw one, but had no way to check if it worked. --Cornprone 21:38, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Is it not careless of the night elves to create a moon well there?, the blood elves could harness its energy.--Gurluas 19:35, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

I just checked; there are two functioning moonwells on that island. Geline 14:11, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Feralas[]

The pool surrounding the meeting stone for Dire Maul has the same graphic effect as a moonwell, anyone know if it's a viable one? Cheez 02:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Yup it's a moonwell i just used it. Convenient since Dire Maul is where i was farming felcoth :P Astrobanshee 05:47, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Darnassus Moonwell[]

I did'nt find the large Moonwell inside Temple of The Moon a real Moonwell for Mooncloth tailoring. Am I missing something? --Jopernikus 14:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, the "pool" in the temple is a moonwell. I think I used to teleport to darnassus, move some feet, create the cloth and teleport back to Ironforge, done within a few seconds. But that's some time ago, and i'm not completely sure. --Ose (c / t) 14:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed that the Darnassus Moonwell is a real Moonwell. Jopernikus (talk) 03:17, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Stormwind Moonwell[]

Does anyone know if this is an actual moonwell, lore-wise? I know that it is functional for the purposes of purifying felcloth in-game, but the fact that the water doesn't have the customary glow makes me think that the ability to purify the cloth is one of the several "lore-bending" aspects of WoW that is done for the sake of convenience or functionality.wadark (talk) 17:26, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Given the night elves in the area, I'm pretty sure it is. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:12, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
I'm just struck by the fact that it doesn't glow, (which of course could simply be a mistake in-game), and I wonder if its not like some sort of "tribute" moonwell, created as an homage to the real moonwells or something. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wadark (talk · contr). 21:18, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
It looks like a moonwell, it acts like a moonwell... If the only thing missing is the glow but it functions in every other respect like an actual moonwell, I think "they forgot to make it glow" is more likely than "it's a fake moonwell that works for gameplay reasons." -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 21:22, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
Good point. wadark (talk) 21:41, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
Well... no matter, it will be destroyed with the park either way. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:02, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Major plothole?[]

Apparently, the Moonwells give the Night Elves their spiritual power. However, the Moonwells are derived from the Well of Eternity, which in itself teeming with Arcane power.

Are the Night Elves not feeding Arcane magic into themselves, by extension? Lethal Breastmilk (talk) 21:04, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

One word: Slurp! TherasTaneel (talk) 21:26, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Maybe it is druid-y arcane magic, in the stead of arcane-y arcane magic. Also, perhaps the night elves are hypocrites.--SWM2448 21:31, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Uhmhmm, formerly "We don't used magic, it attracts the legion!" So,..what's that big glowing portal tree doing in Darnassus. TherasTaneel (talk) 21:35, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Nature magic.--SWM2448 21:39, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Usually isn't glowing purple, but sure. TherasTaneel (talk) 21:42, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Entering Moonwells[]

I know that scantily clad elf ladies bathing in Moonwells is a stereotype for the race, but isn't doing that like, punishable by death? I remember reading somewhere that nobody was allowed to enter them, but from what I see here, it's like all members of the alliance can use them for basic crafting needs. So can people enter them without being killed? Obviously high elves/highborne would probably be removed if they went in, but like, what about normal elves? Can anyone give me a source with some info on this, and perhaps even add it to the page? --Alexm95 9:44, 3 December 2015 (EST)

Caverns of Time moonwell[]

Just wanna update this wiki that the moonwell inside caverns of time near the battle for mount hyjal raid is not working for primal mooncloth spell. Tested this 10/11/2018. Did not test for the other similar spells though. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arthurwccb (talk · contr).
