Posting of advertising against Wowwiki policy??? Added question to User Talk:Anticrash--Dracomage 11:00, 12 Jan 2006 (EST)

Definitely a no-no. Thanks for the heads up on this. We should check for more spam from that user. --Anticrash 11:22, 12 Jan 2006 (EST)

The text of this is taken directly from Joana's 1-60 Horde leveling guide which is linked too at the bottom of this page. This is a copyrighted document. I've sent an email to the author of Joana's guide asking if the copy is authorized. --Dsrogers 12:02, 27 February 2007 (EST)

According to the author, this isn't his work, so, my mistake. --Dsrogers 15:55, 27 February 2007 (EST)

Power soloing?[]

IMHO this page is not about Power leveling.

Or at most its about one way to play the game. Character_Towing is another way. Perhaps this page should be called power soloing.

From my Ever Quest days Power leveling was a fighter say getting heals from a priest not grouped up. getting exp on EQ was much harder then on WoW. But thats another story.

On WoW its more then Character_Towing...

Get out of the group and let the low level pull. Power Leveling is two of more not in a group.

There is nothing wrong with the page. Its is all good advice. Its just a titled poorly, Its a page name that is producing word delusion.

I have a bit about Power Leveling on my Home page No don't change it I don't give a damm --- StrCat

Afaik, power levelling is the term used in WoW circles. Kirkburn  talk  contr 20:51, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
MMORPG circles as a whole, really. -Kaxx 22:02, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Powerlevelling, in this context, is simply 'methods to level as quickly as possible' - no matter what they might be. KelvinFrost 00:33, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

In light of patches 3.0.2 & 3.0.3, I'd like to suggest that the content relating to professions and mentions Herbalism should also include a wording that would indicate that Herbalism also benefits Inscription, and therefore is now even more worth it. Something of the sort. This is my first wikia contribution, so please feel free to correct me.

Expansion[]

If any beta testers are reading this, we could use some beta strategies for power leveling. Otherwise I would just add a note to the article that you should not quest after reaching level 60, for once the expansion comes out you're missing out on valuable exp. Qii 11:51, 13 December 2006 (EST)

Addon recommendations[]

A couple of addon types are mentioned in the Assumption section. But a total newbie like me is completely baffed by the huge amount of addons available in any category. Can a few (2-3?) popular, specific add-on can be provided as a recommendation? - Manu 01:26, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Offsite Link Blocking Edits[]

I was blocked from saving an edit to the article because the SPAM filter triggered on an offsite link. The link is already in the article, I did not change it, and I do not feel comfortable removing it. My edit was a one line exception in the Professions section, all text. It would be useful if the SPAM filter could allow existing links to pass through unchanged. Madkaugh (talk) 19:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Blizzard doesn't care[]

The last section shows just how little Blizzard cares about players who don't have unearthly amounts of time to play the game. Nearly everything in the endgame content is only doable if you're a hardcore player, since casual players simply don't have enough time to do all of the endgame content (Arenas, high-level raids, etc.). User NyhmWar and referal links[]

User:NyhmWar states in his edit summary "(→External links: If you scroll down you will see that it is a review site. There are no referals on the site the links only track clicks.....I make no money from anything)", however if you go to his site (top4wowguides.com) when links are clicked they redirect through clickbank.net , a site used for tracking referals for commercial purposes. One link even blatantly has a referal link when you end up on the guides page (wowtycoon.com/?hop=ragnaros). Also your reviews are simply copied from elsewhere, and aren't reviews but blatant adverts. Zorko (talk) 10:01, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

"For Sale" leveling guides[]

Of the current external links, the following are sale only:

  • Brian Kopp
  • Team iDemise
  • Joanasworld
  • Zygor

These sites contain no public content (that I found). Guides may be appropriate for linkage, but I very much dislike wowwiki serving as an advertising platform. (re wowwiki advertisement: should I add "Without us getting a piece of it"? THAT particular moral creep is what I dislike about wikia's advertising.) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 00:37, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Just before I get blamed for these (I did insert these links as far as I remember) I was actually replacing them, before they were all referal links and similar, and I tracked down the proper websites for them and put them there. I don't really like the guides being there myself but I don't know the rules about this and didn't want to make too big a change. Zorko (talk) 01:43, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hopefully, one of the people who DO know will see our editing this talk page... --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
