"Apparently the loot drops are modified by the number of drakes left standing when Sartharion is down:" This is correct. It was confirmed by Raids and Dungeons Panel at BlizzCon. This raid was used as an example of one in which the difficulty could be changed, and it was explained that the raid table changes depending on how many of the drakes are alive (not sure if they have to be alive at the beginning, or all the way through the end). The relevant part of the panel is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIz7_NghZa8&feature=related and starts at about 1:50. I was present at this panel. I don't know what kind of documentation would be needed for a citation as I normally only correct typos and grammar.--Solitha (talk) 09:44, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Extra loot

As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong), Sartharion loot goes like this:
1) 10-man version:

  • 0 drakes up - 2x T7.10 tokens, 2x ilvl200 items
  • 1 drake up - 2x T7.10 tokens, 3x ilvl200 items
  • 2 drakes up - 2x T7.10 tokens, 3x ilvl200 items and 1x ilvl 213 item
  • 3 drakes up - 2x T7.10 tokens, 3x ilvl200 items, 1x ilvl 213 item and Reins of the Black Drake

2) 25-man version:

  • 0 drakes up - 2x T7.25 tokens, 2x ilvl213 items
  • 1 drake up - 2x T7.25 tokens, 3x ilvl213 items
  • 2 drakes up - 2x T7.25 tokens, 3x ilvl213 items and 1x ilvl 226 item
  • 3 drakes up - 2x T7.25 tokens, 3x ilvl213 items, 1x ilvl 226 item and Reins of the Twilight Drake

How should I mark the extra items in the loot tables (some of them aren't on wiki yet but I'll add them later)? Should I create 6 separate tables instead of 2? Vysogota T / C

Lore

Anyone know why we are killing Sartharion? Technically all the dragon aspects are at peace at Wyrmrest so just why--after working for the blacks--are we killing them?--Guthammer (talk) 12:25, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Dragonflights, not dragon aspects. I keep seeing that a lot lately. I don't really have an answer, I haven't seen a reason specified. He's a black dragon, that's reason enough to kill him. The black dragons are not truely at peace at Wyrmrest, it just happens to be neutral ground. The reds, greens, and bronzes respect that enough not to kill Nalice (though you can bet Chromie, Itharius, Korial, and even Alex would immediately kill her if they ran into her elsewhere. And Nalice is severely outnumbered, otherwise she would slay every dragon of another flight she could (see her and Serinar's flavor text and quest text). Think of it as a diplomatic meeting during wartime. They are playing nice but everyone ready to pull out a gun in a second's notice if it goes that way. Possibly this neutrality doesn't extend to the seperate sanctums. Or maybe because we aren't ourselves members of the accord, and because none of the other flights are around/care enough to stop us, we can get away with it.Warthok Talk Contribs 12:56, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Father?

When Vesperon says "Father was right about you, Sartharion...You are a weakling! " Who is he referring to? Deathwing? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mystic101 (talk · contr).

Yes. Deathwing is the official father of the Twilight Drakes, however Sartharion's purpose isn't particularly known... He guards eggs in the Obsidian Sanctum, but how did they get there in the first place... hmm. The zone is magical in nature, so perhaps it can be accessed from Grim Batol (where Deathwing resides). Also, the way in which the drakes are created is not given, so perhaps any dragon could make them. --Notmyhandle (talk) 12:39, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Warlock Voidwalker Tanking

I know it's probably a fluke, and will be nerfed in subsequent patches, but I believe that the current trend of Voidwalker Tanking Sartharion is worth at least a short mention. I've seen it performed successfully, and it's quite the sight to behold. It leaves nearly the entire raid to deal with Drakes, should you feel like performing the 3 Drakes up routine. I don't know about any of you, but I believe it's worth a passing glance, at least. DanTheBigMan (talk) 22:51, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Berserk Quote

I know he yells that quote near the end of his fight when he reaches like 10% health or so and does a mass spam of meteor strike, spawning a lot of elementals. But does he actually yell it when he Berserks? ---Saphiredragon89 (talk) 18:25, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Compass directions

The strategy section is a little confusing with respect to compass directions. The note at the end indicates that north is to the right in the illustrations, but the first bulleted list ("Layout/PURPLE") gives the drake locations as north, west, and east. I'm guessing that the layout bullet needs to be reworded with real directions, and a sentence needs to be added to the top to clarify that the maps are rotated. (I've not done this instance so don't know the truth from personal experience.) -- ScratchMonkey (talk) 21:41, May 5, 2010 (UTC)
