Voldana is a high elf from Quel'Danil Lodge who fought with Dougan and Kardan against the Horde during the Second War. When Dougan heard townsfolk were disappearing from investigating the cursed tower of Karazhan, he ventured off with Kardan and Voldana to rescue the missing villagers. The evils of the tower was too much and while Kardan and Voldana escaped, Dougan was left behind. Kardan and Voldana delivered the sad news to Dougan's wife Adena. Yet so immense was her grief that her mind snapped and she became unfit to raise her twin baby girls. And so Voldana and Kardan decided to honor their colleague by raising the twin girls as their own.
Voldana raised Loania in Quel'Danil Lodge. When Kardan visited her a human sneaked in and it was revealed that it was Loania's twin - Lieren, who was raised by Kadran. Eventually, the twins were told a story of Voldana, Kardan, and Dougan's past. The twins convinced them that they wanted to visit Duskwood to find Adena. Kardan and Voldana accompanied them on their journey. While there, the group discovered that Adena was dead. As they were about to approach her grave, a wave of undead attacked them, Adena amongst them. Adena injured Kardan and Voldana stayed behind to defend him, while Lieren and Loania went to put Adena to rest, eventually succeeding. After this, they returned to Hinterlands where Adena was reburied in a new grave. Kardan and Voldana then claimed that they have repaid their debt to Adena and Dougan.[1]
